cause for concern

just a day after iran has asserted its "right" to uranium enrichment--which is an integral part in the development of nuclear weapons--and has resolved to continue to develop "peaceful" nuclear technologies, north korea on the other hand has just announced that it will drop out of a six-nation talk geared at persuading the north koreans to abandon its nuclear ambitions. moreover, north korea has admitted that it now has nuclear weapons!

short of engaging in another military incursion into another country, these recent developments ought to compel the present US administration to initiate a more vigorous and perhaps a more creative diplomatic effort concerning these two countries.

these recents events are quite troubling....and as john bolton, the US undersecretary of state for arms control and international security, has just said with regards to north korea: "time is not on our side."
