lessons on exorcisms

so the vatican is offering lessons to priests on exorcisms....not really a very bizarre thing come to think of it as "exorcist" until recently was one of the "minor" orders into which a candidate to the priesthood is installed. it's like one of the stepping stones, so to speak, to ordination (the others are porter, acolyte, lector, sub-deacon, deacon).

anyway, this is to be a two-month crash course, with a heavy dose of lessons on psychology thrown in. and, apparently, they have to learn to be patient: "Because each case of possession is different, each person possessed is different. Those studying to become exorcists should also study psychology and know how to distinguish between a mental illness and a possession. And - finally - they need to be very patient," according to an exorcist trainer.

read about it here.
