physician, heal thyself!

now i've always thought that the longer a person has been at a profession, the better that person's job performance is: amassing a lot of wisdom, knowledge, skill, and information along the way. i know this to be true with the priesthood where a great number of years of ministry can provide a priest invaluable and rich insights into the human condition and the journey of faith.

well, apparently this is not so with physicians, according to this story. surprising. the redeeming thing here is that not all aspects of a physician's perfomance decline with age.
