NYPD releases oral histories of 9/11

The New York City Fire Department announces that it has released oral histories from 9/11. These oral statements were from firefighters and officers who served that day. If once reads some of these oral histories, the immense bravery and courage displayed by these men truly shines forth. And some of the testimonies, made in interview format, were gripping.

In its statement, the NYPD expresses its hope "that the release of these records will not cause our members and their families any additional pain or anguish.”
