understanding ME

Yes!! And yet another book pointing out how really messed up the members of my generation truly are.

But what makes this book stand out is its insighfulness. Want to know why me and my generation are miserable, depressed, and anxious?

According to Jean Twenge’s “Generation Me : Why Today's Young Americans Are More Confident, Assertive, Entitled--and More Miserable Than Ever Before,” the culprit is the “self-esteem” movement: an accentuate-the-positive trend in society that has swept through the culture, inflating young people's expectations and estimates of self-worth while erasing from the story of life the valuable prospects of criticism and failure.

Interesting, eh?

One amazon.com reviewer wrote: “I'd say she's dead on with most of her assertions. This is a great book to stir up a fervent dialogue between parents, educators, coaches, mentors, clergy, and GenMe! “

Here’s another book that will sure to find a spot in MY library.
